"Transformation • Creation" The 8th Wuhu ‘’Liu Kaiqu’’ Sculpture Exhibition Collection Meeting

On July 15,2022, “Transformation • Creation” The 8th Wuhu “Liu Kaiqu” Sculpture Exhibition Collection Meeting was held in Wuhu. At present, the 34 sculpture works have been successfully installed in the park.

“Liu Kaiqu” Sculpture Exhibition, jointly presented by China Sculpture Institute, China Academy of Art, Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and the Wuhu Municipal People''''s Government, has become an important domestic outdoor sculpture exhibition brand. The theme of this exhibition, “Transformation • Creation”, not only includes the inheritance and development of excellent traditional cultural resources, but also contains the comprehension and innovation of modern life. The artists explores possibilities from national traditions, borrows and absorbs from diverse cultures, condenses the spirit of the times, and tries and creates excellent works to meet people''''s cultural needs and enhance people''''s spiritual strength, reflects the urban character of Wuhu.

Meeting Site

The work presented in Wuhu Sculpture Park is the result of the curatorial team of China Sculpture Institute considering and selecting the best of the 1,278 works. From the preliminary selection scheme validation, production of three-dimensional draft, and then to re-selection of further work demonstration, to today’s successful installation, each step has been strictly checked and refined. Under the guidance of the principles of high level, high specification and high quality, more than 300 sculptures have been completed in Wuhu Sculpture Park and Central Park.
